5 Days Bwindi Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari. Book this 5-day, 4-night Uganda safari to track gorillas in Bwindi and view wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala and taken to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. On your route, you will make a halt at the equator for an equator experience and, if desired, photographic opportunities. Proceed to Mbarara town for lunch before continuing on to Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will arrive late afternoon. Dinner and stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Game Drive and Launch Cruise—Queen Elizabeth
Safari in Bwindi with Queen ElizabethTake an early morning game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will see a variety of species such as African elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, impalas, and many birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast, relax, and have your lunch. In the afternoon, take a launch cruise down the Kazinga channel inside Queen Elizabeth Park to see hippos, crocodiles, and other aquatic life, as well as a variety of birds in the bay! Return to your resort for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha.
After breakfast, head southwest to Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. You may see many of them reclining on trees and enjoying the sun! Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, arriving in the evening. Check into your hotel, relax, and enjoy supper and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi.
Before your gorilla hike, get an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the ranger guides. Go into the forest and trek until you reach the gorillas. Gorilla trekking can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on how the gorillas travel. After discovering the gorillas in Bwindi, you will have only one hour before returning. Your driver/guide will take you back to your hotel to rest and spend another night.
Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala
Enjoy an early breakfast before returning to Kampala via Mbarara for lunch, arriving in the evening. You will be dropped off at your accommodation in Kampala or the airport for your onward journey, which marks the end of your Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth Safari.
