Make another stop in Mbarara for lunch before continuing to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake, which is located on the Uganda-Rwanda border. On a clear day, you might be able to glimpse the majestic volcanic Mount Muhavura. Dinner and overnight stay at the Bunyonyi Overland Resort
Day 2: Canoe Ride and Transfer to Bwindi National Park.
After breakfast, you will board a hired canoe and explore the surroundings from the water’s surface, looking for various bird species on the lake’s 37 islands. Later, you will return to the lodge for lunch before continuing on to Bwindi Forest National Park, one of the world’s heritage places and noted for its gorilla trek activity. Dinner and stay at the Wagtail Eco Safari Camp.
Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi.
After breakfast, you will attend a gorilla briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. You will be given a guideline booklet to read and understand how you should act when in the forest with or near the gorillas. The Bwindi Rain Forest is beautiful, with a stunning steeply forested topography that is exceedingly dense, crisscrossed by numerous animal pathways that allow people to see gorillas.

Aside from mountain gorillas, other creatures in the forest include the uncommon golden monkey, buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog, and several bird species. You are encouraged to bring a packed lunch and drink because the time it takes to visit the gorillas varies depending on their movements. The experience of viewing gorillas is exciting and unique. Return to your lodge for refreshments, and so on. Dinner and stay at the Wagtail Eco Safari Camp.
Day 4: Return to Kampala.
After an early breakfast, you’ll travel back to Kampala, stopping in Mbarara for lunch. Note that this schedule can be reversed so that you track gorillas first and then Lake Bunyonyi last.
