Day 1: Kigali, Nyungwe Forest National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda’s southern province. If you arrive in the morning, you will eat lunch en way before heading to Nyungwe forest. Dinner and stay at Gisakura Guest House or Nyungwe Forest Lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
After breakfast, proceed to the park offices for a training before entering the tropical rain forest to look for shy chimps hopping on tree branches and taking unforgettable images and movies. The journey normally starts in the morning, and you are likely to spot chimps as they wake up. It is much easier to find them before they ascend due to their rapid mobility.
Enjoy lunch before embarking on the only canopy walk in East Africa, Nyungwe. The canopy walk provides a clear view of flora, primates, birds, and butterflies up close. Return to the lodge for dinner and sleep, as described previously.
Day 3: Nyungwe Forest-Departure
After breakfast, board the safari vehicle and transfer to Kigali, stopping for lunch along the way and paying visits to some of Rwanda’s genocide and cultural monuments. Drop off at your accommodation in Kigali or the airport for your next trip.
